On edge quilling vs. regular quilling
When post people see or hear about quilling, they are usually talking about traditional quilling, which uses narrow paper strips, rolled into coils, shaped, and glued into intricate designs.
My class shows you how to make pieces using on edge quilling, which is a modern variation of quilling using cardstock paper strips (usually wider than traditional quilling paper as well), to create designs
There are many types of looks you can create with on edge quilling. Pictured is a fun abstract look.
Purple Poppies
Flowers are a fun subject for an on edge quilling picture. Realistic or more abstract depictions of flowers look really interesting brought to life in a 3D way with on edge quilling.
Tropical Flamingo
Animals look really striking in quilling. The paper strips bring a nice texture.
Tree at Sunrise
Other natural elements look great in quilling, using the strips to create texture.
